Jack Jouett Day

Celebrate an American Revolutionary war hero. In June of 1781 Jack Jouett rode through the night 40 miles across treacherous terrain to alert Thomas Jefferson and the Virginia legislature that the British were on their way. When you visit the Jack Jouett House you’ll find our visitor’s center will be made to look like a 1700s American tavern. While inside guests will be treated to cookies and lemonade. Outside, 1700s children’s games will be set up for kids and kids at heart to try. Finally, enjoy a guided tour of the historic home by one of our fantastic tour guides!
